CGPA basics
How a CGPA calculation usually works
CGPA is generally a cumulative, credit-weighted average of grade points. For each GPA-bearing course, multiply the grade point by the course credit, add the resulting quality points, and divide by the total credits included in the calculation.
The exact grade-point table, treatment of failed or repeated courses, pass/fail subjects, transfer credits and rounding rules can differ by institution. Kabarilal CGPA is an independent planning tool, so your transcript or university portal remains the authoritative result.
A quick worked example
Suppose three courses have grade points of 8, 9 and 7 with credits of 4, 3 and 2. The quality points are 32, 27 and 14. Total quality points are 73 and total credits are 9, giving an average of about 8.11 on that grading scale.
Before converting CGPA
There is no universal CGPA-to-percentage or CGPA-to-4.0-GPA formula. Use the method published by your institution or the organization receiving your application. Generic conversions are best treated as estimates.
